John Paul II Awards

We had a fabulous time at the John Paul II awards ceremony in Knock Basilica last night.
Kieran Farrell, Chloe Costello, Daithi Quinn, Johnathan Connolly, Sophie Nestor and Niamh Mannion were all awarded medals for their community and parish involvement throughout the year. The students took part in many activities to earn their awards such as; The Awakening Concert in aid of Pieta House, Volunteering at Knock (VAKS programme), visiting the elderly, organising and taking part in the Darkness into Light walk, taking part in the Youth 2000 pilgrimage in Poland, Singing at mass, cleaning the church and many more.
The awards ceremony was complemented with music and various guest speakers. Our own Chloe Costello was chosen to read an excerpt of her reflection in the crowded Basilica and she did a fantastic job.
All of the students were a credit to our school at the event.

Cork Pops Orchestra

Ms. Flaherty’s and Ms. Burke’s 1st and 2nd years had a great afternoon at the Cork Pops Orchestra directed by Evelyn Grant in University Concert Hall, Limerick. They were joined this year by Keith Hanley the winner of ‘The Voice’ (2013) and DJ Dashka, an award-winning music producer, composer, DJ and instrumentalist! The students learned so much that will help them in both their English and Music classes!
